The 2019 Ethnic-Minority Scholarship application period is now OPEN! Ten local high school students will be awarded a scholarship of up to $1,000 to help with college expenses. The annual scholarship competition is open to all local high school seniors who apply with a 2.5 GPA or higher; SAT score of 750 or higher (combined Math and Critical Reading); demonstrated leadership capabilities (church, school, community service); evidence of financial need; member of an ethnic-minority group; and resident of Mecklenburg County.

Carolinas Food Industry Council (CFIC) Scholarship
Now in its 13th year, CFIC will award 40 scholarships at $2,500 each as part of the Everett and Trudy Suddreth Scholarship of Excellence. To verify Carolinas Food Industry Council member status, please call CFIC at (919) 832-0811. All applicants or parents of applicants must still be employed by a CFIC member company at the time winners are selected in June.

Michael A. DeMayo Scholarship
The annual Michael A. DeMayo Scholarship program is an exciting opportunity for local high school seniors to have a chance to win a $2,500 scholarship toward their college education.
To qualify, students must have applied for full-time enrollment at a four-year university or college and complete and return a scholarship application to the Law Offices of Michael A. DeMayo, L.L.P. by April 1st, 2019. Scholarships will be awarded based on the student’s presentation, as well as their application, SAT scores, transcripts and letters of recommendation. Lighthouse Guild Scholarship
Each year, the Lighthouse Guild scholarship program helps outstanding and deserving legally blind high school students from across the country attend college with scholarships of up to $10,000. Scholarships are based on strong academic accomplishments and merit, and provide additional financial support to help students make a successful transition from high school to a college or university of their choice. Charlotte Metro Area Relocation Scholarship
The Charlotte Metro Area Relocation Council is a non-profit organization that brings together corporations and relocation service providers in and around Charlotte for the primary purpose of providing educational information and current industry updates to its members. As part of our commitment to Relocation, CMARC has developed a scholarship program for current high school seniors who have relocated into the Charlotte area sometime between grades 9 (after 8th grade graduation) and 12. The one-time award of $1,000 will be presented to one Charlotte area high school senior this year. The award will be sent to the college that the student will be attending to assist with tuition, etc. CMARC will select scholarship winners based on the strength of their total package. The student will be evaluated on academic performance, extra-curricular activities and on their response to an essay addressing the challenges associated with relocating to a new area and a new high school.

State Employees Association of North Carolina (SEANC) Scholarship Foundation
State Employees Association of North Carolina (SEANC) Scholarship Foundation, Inc. offers academic scholarships to the dependents of SEANC members.
The Scholarship Foundation will award 49 annual scholarships for the 2019-2020 school year.
Only SEANC members in good standing, their spouses and/or dependent child(ren) are eligible to receive scholarships. Membership in teachers’ organizations or the State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) does not constitute eligibility for a SEANC Foundation Scholarship.

North Carolina Child Support Council Scholarship
CHILD SUPPORT SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA
1. At least one parent must be a member of the North Carolina Child Support Council or a client of the
Child Support Program (through either Child Support services or Clerk of Court services).
2. Applicant must be a resident of North Carolina and a graduating high school senior.
3. Applicant must have been accepted by a North Carolina school of higher learning: a College,

American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program
Features state and national scholarships ranging from $500 to $18,000 and is open to all 9th-12th grade students. The main purpose of the program is to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States on the part of high school students. Other objectives include the development of leadership qualities, the ability to think and speak clearly and intelligently, and the preparation for acceptance of the duties and responsibilities, rights and privileges of American citizenship. Kids’ Chance of North Carolina Scholarship
Established in 2004, Kids’ Chance of North Carolina awarded its first scholarship in August of 2005 and continues to award scholarships to students each year. The mission of Kids’ Chance of North Carolina is to provide educational scholarships to the children (ages 16-25) of North Carolina workers who have been catastrophically or fatally injury in work-related accidents. Scholarships up to $5,000 may cover college tuition, books, housing, meals, and/or transportation on an annual basis. The scholarship recipient must be a full time student and remain in good standing to qualify for the scholarship payment each semester, (fall and spring). Kids’ Chance seeks to work with schools and students to make a significant difference in the lives of these families by providing scholarship support to help eligible students pursue and achieve their higher education goals. New Advanced Visual Testing Certificate - Full Scholarship - CPCC
Beginning Spring 2015, CPCC offers a new 16 week (semester) NDET training certificate program designed to prepare highly trained individuals for nuclear-related employment. CPCC will implement its Advanced VT Certificate program by administering thirty (30) full scholarships (tuition, books, and fees), funded by the US NRC Grant beginning in the spring 2015 semester. Student candidates must review, agree and sign the USNRC Grant Trade School Scholarship Program Service Agreement. This course is targeted for those individuals interested in learning visual inspections methodology on Light Water Reactors within the jurisdiction of the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, (USNRC) licensing. This course prepares individuals for trainee positions in performing visual examinations of pressure retaining vessels, piping, pumps, and valves for nuclear power electric generating facilities. Topics include fundamentals of visual examination with emphasis on VT-1, VT-2 and VT-3 methods Upon completion, the students should be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of ASME Code visual testing requirements during various phases of commercial nuclear power operations. - Have been diagnosed with and treated for a dermatologic condition
- Have been treated by a dermatologist, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner working in a dermatology practice
- Used a prescription medicine to treat your dermatologic condition*
Requirements
- Complete application that includes:
- An essay written by you describing in approximately 500 words
- the role your dermatologist, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner has played in helping treat the condition
- the impact your diagnosed dermatologic condition has had on your life and personal experiences
- 2 letters of recommendation and information about your school and community activities
- Signed Medical Statement Form confirming your dermatologic condition by the treating dermatologist, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner working in a dermatology practice. This form will be accessible to you during the on-line application process†
- At time of scholarship application, proof of application or acceptance to, or enrollment at, the school that you are seeking the scholarship
