LAWA (Latin Americans Working for Achievement) Scholarship Programs
More than 25 years ago, a small group of women from Spanish-speaking countries formed an organization in Charlotte to help young Latinos gain critical access to higher education and careers. LAWA continues to provide scholarships through a competitive process based on academic achievement, financial need and community service.

ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Math and Science Scholarships
Named for the first African American to walk in space, ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Math and Science Scholarships are available to 2019 graduating high school seniors in school districts represented by the Council of the Great City Schools.
Four scholarships for two males and two females --- $5,000 each --- will be awarded to two African American and two Hispanic students on behalf of the former NASA astronaut, physician and businessman, Dr. Bernard Harris. Deadline for submissions is April 12, 2019.

Emma Bowen Foundation - Internship/Scholarship Opportunity
The Emma Bowen Foundation is recruiting minority students interested in the media industry to work in multi-summer internships at Media Companies throughout the United States. We are accepting applications from high school seniors and incoming college freshmen on a rolling basis. Our internships are PAID and also provides a matching funds scholarship each summer the student works. LULAC National Scholarship Fund
A scholarship program cosponsored by some 70 LULAC Councils who raise scholarship funds at the grass roots level which are matched nationally by sponsoring corporations. The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), has considered education its number one priority since it was established in 1929. As part of LULAC’s education efforts, the LULAC National Scholarship Fund (LNSF) was established in 1975 to provide scholarships to Hispanic students attending colleges and universities. Under the LNSF program, local LULAC Councils, in partnership with local and national businesses, award scholarships to students in their communities. LNSF is administered by the LULAC National Educational Service Centers, Inc., a non-profit educational organization established by LULAC to provide educational programs for Hispanics and other youth. The LULAC National Scholarship Fund application is closed until January 2014. Latin American Women’s Association (LAWA) Youth Scholarships
LAWA will offer youth scholarships ranging from $1,500 to $3,000 and scholarships will be renewable up to three (3) consecutive years. Scholarships are awarded based on student financial need, academic merit and community involvement and are open to eligible first or second generation Latino male and female students who have been accepted to an accredited college or university to attend full-time. Applications for these scholarships will be available in January 2014. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA; a complete application packet will include an official high school transcript, two letters of recommendation from high school teachers, one letter of recommendation describing extra-curricular activities, a personal letter, and a copy of the college acceptance letter. A personal interview may be required. Students can request an application materials packet at [email protected] or visit student services for more information.
