Dora R. Mason Scholarship Award 2019
The Charlotte Mecklenburg Chapter of Las Amigas, Incorporated is a service organization of Afro-American women who strive to provide community service throughout the city of Charlotte and the surrounding areas. This year we are pleased to announce that we are sponsoring a $500.00 scholarship in the name of our late co-founder Dora R. Mason. This scholarship will be used to help pay for your books during your freshmen year. Criteria:
Asai Miller Scholarship
Application Deadline: April 30th of each year.
Notification Letters: Sent the third week in June of each year.
Requirements: Eligible High School Students:
Must be a High School Senior who is a member of the Young Black Leadership Alliance
Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Must have a letter of acceptance from at least one college and/or university.
All eligible students must complete the scholarship application and submit an essay answering the question listed below: Explain how receiving this scholarship will allow you to further your education in order to impact your community (local, state, national and/or world)*The essay must be at least 500 words in length, typed, Times New Roman 12 pt. font, 1 inch margins, and double spaced.

The Charlotte Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Scholarships
The Charlotte Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. awards scholarships annually to African-American high school seniors who are college bound. There will be at least three scholarships awarded with a minimum award of $1,000 each -
1) the Scoggins/Shadd "Breaking Barriers" Award,
2) the Frances Selena Johnson "Making Strides" Award and
3) the Daisy Spears Stroud "Academic Achievement Award."
All applicants must be residents of Mecklenburg County and currently enrolled in a Mecklenburg County School (public or private). There are GPA requirements for the scholarships, which vary depending on which scholarship is being sought. All applicants must submit an essay with his/her application. And, if selected, the applicants must take part in an interview to compete for the scholarship awards. African American Network- Carolinas Scholarship Fund
The fund provides scholarships ranging up to $2,000 for graduating seniors in North and South Carolina.
The AAN-C Scholarship fund stems from the African American Network, which is a resource group of African American employees at Duke Energy. As a part of its mission, the African American Network – Carolinas Chapter provides scholarships to college-bound students from North and South Carolina who are pursuing a major in engineering, math, science, computer science, accounting, finance, or business administration.
Applications are available at https://fftcscholarships.communityforce.com. Applications should be submitted online by March 1, 2019. The AANC-C Scholarship Committee will consider academics, and financial need of each applicant after assuring they meet the minimum eligibility:
1. Graduating Senior at a North or South Carolina High School
2. Must attend a four-year college or university located in North or South Carolina
3. Must plan to major in engineering, math, science, computer science, accounting, finance, or business administration.
2019 Black Men with a Purpose Scholarship
Scholarship funds are available to assist with college expenses (i.e., tuition, books, and room and board) for current high school seniors planning to attend college. One non-renewable $1000.00 scholarship will be awarded to three (3) recipients. Eligibility requirements are as follows:
• Mecklenburg County graduating high school seniors who have been accepted to an accredited two- or four-year college or university.
• Applicants must enroll in accepted college or university during the fall of their high school graduation year.
• Applicants must pursue an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
• Applicants must demonstrate financial need.

Crown Jewels (NC) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated Scholarships
Crown Jewels (NC) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated as we announce our 2019 annual scholarships. We are awarding two distinct scholarship opportunities to be awarded to African-American students currently enrolled in Mecklenburg County schools. The application must be submitted on or before Friday, March 1st, and is accessible through the following link: https://form.jotform.com/70156629732156.
The first high school senior award is our Links Scholar. It is a one-time award in the amount of $2,500 to be disbursed at the beginning of the student’s Fall 2017 college semester. It will go to a student with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75. The second high school senior award is our Crown Jewels Scholar, which will go to a student with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. It is a recurring award totaling $20,000 to be disbursed in an annual amount of $5,000, over a four-year consecutive period. There is also an essay requirement for the Crown Jewels Scholar.
To be eligible to receive the above two scholarship awards, all applicants must enroll in a four-year college or university upon graduation from high school and must demonstrate a significant financial need. UNCF STEM Scholars Program
Administered by the UNCF (United Negro College Fund), this scholarship is open to African American high school students who aspire to earn STEM degrees and pursue careers in STEM fields. The application is open for high school seniors who are entering college as first-time first-year students.

Charlotte Club of NANBPWC, Inc. Scholarship Program
Scholarship Requirements:
Applicant is an African American graduating high school senior and a U.S. Citizen.
ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Math and Science Scholarships
Named for the first African American to walk in space, ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Math and Science Scholarships are available to 2019 graduating high school seniors in school districts represented by the Council of the Great City Schools.
Four scholarships for two males and two females --- $5,000 each --- will be awarded to two African American and two Hispanic students on behalf of the former NASA astronaut, physician and businessman, Dr. Bernard Harris. Deadline for submissions is April 12, 2019.

Students can now complete the 2018-2019 Common Black College Application (CBCA) and apply to any number of 43 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), at the same time, for only $35. The completion of the CBCA significantly increases the educational options of students by allowing them to receive acceptance letters, financial aid packages and scholarship offers from several different HBCUs.
Emma Bowen Foundation - Internship/Scholarship Opportunity
